David Simmons, passed away unexpectedly last week.
Those of us that came to know him (predominately from the TT series) knew he was an extraordinary duathlete, at one time competing in the World Duathlon Championships in 2000.  More recently we became aware of David’s battle with Parkinson’s Disease, something he faced with courage every time he threw a leg over the bike.
On a personal level, he was known as a devoted husband, father, and friend.  His passion for cycling fueled him, even on his toughest days.
David’s obituary was published yesterday; here it is, including details around his services, which are tomorrow and Saturday: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/democratandchronicle/obituary.aspx?n=david-b-simmons&pid=186705653&fhid=7355
